lol...you're too funny, Sue, and although this is a great idea for a thread, I sincerely believe we can award atta boys without names...just a thought
I did select my mentor as a great help starting out what, over 2 years ago now, but I still remember most of what he told me...that is, until the time came when he said I knew more than him and to move on! There's something about being pushed out of the nest...lol...yeah, it was scary!
How I picked him was...through his participation within the forum we were on...he was one of the few that was consistent in his offerings, showed strength and found a deep-seated positive in his words...then I checked him out with folks he'd done trades with...yes, I did! Like almost everyone else, I've been burned on net stuff, too...and couldn't afford to have it happen again!
What made him (and 3 others, admittedly, that I also branched out with...) great mentors was their patience and understanding...lol....and especially their ability between the 4 of them, to either have answers to my thousands of questions...lol...or at least be able to direct me where to find those answers. THAT meant a great deal to me, it expedited my learning process and that's always a good thing!!
Overall, freebie trading per se has stayed much the same, at least the process....but I feel the need to add that ensuing generations of new traders may not be offering up (consistently, that is

) the level of patience that really is required....to raise the best.

The better the traders? The more relaxed and comfy new folks will feel...and the odds are pretty high, they'll stick around...
What's YOUR experience with your mentor(s), folks? Bet others would like to hear, too!
